REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY - Vernon - Kal Tire Place

Monday, Nov 11, 2024

Poppy Vector Art, Icons, and Graphics ...

Vernon’s official Remembrance Day ceremony is held at Kal Tire Place, put on by Vernon’s Legion and the City of Vernon, which provides accessible indoor accommodation against inclement weather.

If you would like to purchase a wreath for the ceremony or to have poppies at your place of work please contact us at legion25@shaw.ca

Lest We Forget‘ resonates into our community beyond the Official Ceremony at Kal Tire Place on November 11.

During the week leading up to November 11, Vernon Legion participates, when able to, in Remembrance ceremonies at local elementary and secondary schools, as well as numerous Seniors’ residential facilities. If you would like a Legionnaire to attend a ceremony please contact us legion25@shaw.ca.

We send packages to the elementary schools with poppies and poppy stickers (poppy stickers are given to kindergartens and grade 1’s)

Vernon Legion representatives also participate in Vernon’s ‘No Stone Left Alone’ program sponsored by our local School District at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in early November, along with approximately 500 schoolchildren.

Cenotaph
There is no official ceremony at the cenotaph due to the city and Legion’s low man power, and small venue space. However wreaths are placed at Vernon Cenotaph for citizens.
